Rock State Park
Megan & Mark are what I like to call, dream clients. When I am thinking of the type of client I want to photograph, the location I dream of capturing, the overall vibe and aesthetics of the day, I think of this. It didn't just start with their elopement to be honest, Megan had the most amazing engagement session at Deep Creek Lake this past summer. Here is the link if you want to check those out. I think it is probably my favorite engagement session to this date. She really nailed it when it came to her attire and location choices.
I had never been to Rocks State Park before their elopement day. Meg was telling me all about these giant rocks and how beautiful they were but I could not have imagined it would be this breath taking. We started the afternoon off with Mark & his family while we waited for Megan's arrival. Then I took Mark to a private little spot on the other side of the park so that he and Meg could have a private moment before their family and friends saw Megan in her dress. Meg rolled right up in her SUV, ready for some fun. This rock star drove herself to her elopement all done up and in her dress. She popped out of the drivers side door with a huge smile on her face. Even though she was a little late, she was so relaxed and easy going about the whole thing. That is one reason I absolutely love elopements! There is no timeline, no urgency, just you and your sweetie and a great adventure. It really takes the stress out of the wedding day.
Their ceremony was short and sweet and spent amongst their closest friends and family members. We then had about an hour and half to adventure and enjoy the beautiful location Meg had chose for her elopement. We climbed rocks, hiked paths, and walked through muddy creeks to beautiful, tall, waterfalls. We took advantage of every second we had and created the most magical elopement photographs.
When I think of the future of this business and where I want to take it, this elopement is exactly what I envision. The dark and moody vibe that I use to edit and capture my images, the emotion that pours through each capture, and the outstanding location choice, and the laid back personalities of this bride and groom. Everything fit together perfect. I cannot wait to see what 2020 adventures are in store for me, but until then here are just a few of my favorites from Mark & Meg's Maryland Elopement.
